Mary Ann Kuhn

"There are five B&B's in the village of Washington, VA..the most deluxe is the Middleton Inn...where no expense was spared on detail and comfort."

The Washington Post

In addition to the stables, the Middleton Inn Bed & Breakfast has three of the original dependencies on the estate: the old summer kitchen, the smoke house and the slaves' quarters. The slaves' quarters has been renovated into a romantic two-story guest cottage with views of the mountains.

In addition to the distinguished AAA rating, the Middleton Inn has received the highest rating for Bed & Breakfasts from the Mobil Travel Guide. It has received rave reviews from critics for The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine and authors of such publications as Recommended Country Inns, Inn Spots & Special Places, Birnbaum's Country Inns & Back Roads North America, and James Yenckel's Great Getaways.

"Middleton Inn was created in 1995 by Mary Ann Kuhn, a former Washington Post reporter and producer for CBS TV News. On a 1996 trip through Virginia, I heard persistant reports about her terrific new inn, so I couldn't wait to see it for myself.  I was not disappointed. The Inn is a dream."
